What the app stores, and where

Everything Annuant knows sits in its own folder on your device.

• Your estimate. Dates of birth and retirement, periods of service, pay history, unused sick leave, survivor election, TSP balance, and anything else you typed in. It is one file in the app's own storage.
• Two preferences. Your chosen language, and whether you want light or dark appearance.
• Whether you have unlocked the paid features. Apple answers that question. The app only remembers the answer.

That is the whole list. Annuant requests no permissions of any kind, so there is no location, camera, or contacts access to grant or revoke.

What leaves your device

Nothing does. The app makes no network requests, so there is no anonymised or aggregated version of your data going anywhere either. You can check this rather than take my word for it: search the source for URLSession and the count is zero. The only party Annuant talks to is the App Store, and only to ask whether you have paid.

There is no analytics package, no crash reporting service, no advertising identifier, and no SDK from anybody else.

The decision package

The PDF is drawn on your phone and handed straight to the iOS share sheet. Where it goes after that is your choice: Mail, Files, AirDrop, a printer. It is not uploaded anywhere on the way, and I never see it.

Purchases

The paid features are one purchase through the App Store. Apple takes the payment and tells the app a single thing: whether that purchase is active. Your name, your payment method, and your Apple Account stay with Apple.

Deleting your data

Settings › Erase everything clears what you typed in. Deleting the app takes the rest with it, including the two preferences. Nothing is stored anywhere else, so there is no account to close and no request to send me. I am holding nothing to delete.

Children

Annuant estimates federal retirement benefits for people who work for the U.S. government. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect anything from them.

Who this is not

Annuant is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, the Thrift Savings Plan, or any part of the U.S. Government. The figures it produces are estimates you can plan against. They are not advice, and they are not a statement of what OPM will pay you.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Anything substantive gets said in the App Store release notes too.
